behind/East of Capitol Community College, the former G. Fox building) between
Market St. and Columbus Blvd. - #38 on the map. Special thanks to the Hartford Parking Authority for making this available! For additional parking lots through the Hartford Parking Authority, visit www.hartfordparking.com. LAZ Parking Lots will offer discounts at their parking lots for parade spectators.
EXPECTED STREET CLOSURES: - All
highway exit ramps into the city will be open until 11:30 at which time
The Capital Ave. exit off of I-84 Eastbound (exit 48B) will close, as
will exit 29A (Capitol Area) on I-91.
- Buckingham St. will be closed from Washington St. to Hudson St. from 10 am until the conclusion of the parade.
- Portions
of Washington, Trinity, Pearl and Main Streets will close at 11:30pm
to clear the parade route and will re-open as the parade leaves the
area.
- Whitehead Highway will close heading into the city beginning at 11:30 pm and will reopen following the parade.
STAR SHUTTLE - TEMPORARY DETOURS in DOWNTOWN HARTFORD DURING THE
VETERANS DAY PARADE
November 6 (Sunday), during the Hartford
Veterans Day Parade, from 12:00PM 3:00PM, the downtown bus stop for all routes
will be relocated to Market Street.
There will be no bus service along
Main Street between Charter Oak Avenue and Morgan Street, along Asylum Street or
Farmington Avenue between Broad and Main Streets, or along Capitol Avenue
between Broad Street and Main Street.
Restaurants open on Sunday afternoon/evening (opening times vary)
McKinnon's Irish Pub (Asylum Ave) Will be open at 11:00 am until closing and welcomes all veterans and their families with specials for spectators and marchers.
Woody's hotdog (Main Street) and beer specials all day long .Come
watch the UConn men and Miami Dolphins play
City Steam Brewery Cafe (Main Street) will be opening at 11:00 am on Sunday and will be staying open straight through the day serving food until 10:00 pm. Regular menu will be offered which is viewable online at www.citysteambrewerycafe.com.
The Russian Lady on Ann Uccello Street and The Tavern Downtown on Allyn Street will both be open at 11:00 am Sunday and remain open all day.
