WINNERS
OF THE BAND CONTESTS AT TODAY'S CONNECTICUT VETERANS DAY PARADE
The winners of the five Band Contests at today's Connecticut Veterans
Day Parade in Downtown Hartford have been announced. A total of 24
different bands marched in the parade, including college, high school
and middle school bands, pipe and drum, and fife and drum bands. A
judging panel selected one winner in each of five categories. Each band
will receive a trophy from parade organizers.

ONE OF NATION'S LARGEST VETERANS DAY PARADES CALLS FOR MARCHERS, SPONSORS AND VOLUNTEERS New "Parade Info Phone" for "Connecticut Veterans Day Parade" - HARTFORD, CONN., July 22, 2009 Connecticut has begun the countdown for one of the largest veterans parades in the nation. With a little more than 100 days to go, the 10th anniversary "Connecticut Veterans Day Parade" is seeking marchers, sponsors and volunteers. The parade will take place on Sunday, November 8, 2009 in Hartford, Conn., stepping off at 1 p.m. near the Connecticut State Capitol and proceeding through Downtown Hartford for 1.26 miles. There is a new "Parade Info Phone" at 860-986-7254 and the website remains www.ctveteransdayparade.org for registration and all parade information. |
